Send kids to Aanganwadis instead of playschools

Ongole: The Prakasam district unit of Andhra Pradesh Aanganwadi Workers and Helpers Union demanded that the government help all children between age of 3 and 5 years go to the Aanganwadi centers but not to play schools or convents for their holistic development.

The Aanganwadi workers and helpers in the district staged a protest in front of the district Collectorate and submitted a memorandum to the district Collector later.

The Prakasam district unit general secretary of Andhra Pradesh Aanganwadi Workers and Helpers Association, Edara Annapurna demanded that the government make it compulsory to send the children of between 3 and 5 years of age to the nearby Aanganwadi center for holistic development with nutritious food and fun learning tools, instead of sending them to convents and play schools. 

She also asked for the filling of Aanganwadi vacancies and giving equal status to Aanganwadi mini centers and assure same salary to the Aanganwadi mini workers.

She requested the Collector to organise a meeting with the project director to discuss and address various issues in the Aanganwadi centers in the district.
