TTD Board warned against privatisation of its assets
Tirupati: Rayalaseema Porata Samithi (RPS) Convener P Naveen Kumar Reddy has condemned the attitude of the state government and TTD Trust Board for misusing Devasthanam funds for private use. The government has been sending GOs to TTD for its funds and the Trust Board accepting them immediately.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, the RPS Convener quoted the recent example in which the proposal to allot Rs 10 crore TTD funds to build Kalyanamandapam and guest houses in Madakasira of Anantapur district and withdrawn the proposal after he sent the legal notices.
The proposal to allot Rs 4.75 crore to Sri Sitarama Swamy temple at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad for Kalyanamandapam, guest house and parking arrangements was not correct as there was already TTD Information Centre and Srivari Temple in Himayat Nagar.
Similarly, he questioned the motive behind allotting TTD Kalyanamandapam at Sattenapalli which belongs to Assembly Speaker’s constituency on lease for five years at the rate of Rs 1 per annum. Efforts were on to handover the three Kalyanamandapams in Anantapur district to Madakasira municipality, Adarsha Mahila Mandali and Hema Mahila Mandali.
He attributed political motives behind this move as the government was handing over them to ‘Mahila Samkhyas’ to garner their votes. If the TTD could not bear its maintenance they can invite sealed tenders through which they can get revenue, he suggested. He warned to file a petition in the High Court of Hyderabad if TTD fails in protecting its properties.
