Amaravati: Expressing concern over the deteriorating health of TDP Rajya Sabha Member C M Ramesh and MLC B. Tech Ravi, AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said that both the state and the Central governments should take responsibility for their wellbeing .

He extended full support to Ramesh and Ravi, who have been on indefinite fast demanding steel factory in Kadapa since June 20. Sivaprasada Rao said that it was very unfortunate that protests have to be staged just to get the promises made under AP Reorganisation Act implemented.

The Speaker said in a statement on Wednesday that as and when Kadapa steel factory was mentioned in the Reorganisation Act, it became legal right for the people of Andhra. It was the moral and legal obligation on the part of Central government to establish the steel plant.

Expressing his dissatisfaction at the Central government’s attitude, he said the people of Andhra Pradesh had been staging protests for every steel plant, begging Visakhapatnam steel plant.

Meanwhile, reacting to the suggestion of Speaker, minister for IT and panchayat raj Nara Lokesh said that the government would take care of about the health of the fasting leaders.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, Lokesh castigated the Central government for not responding to the demand of people and promised to mount further pressure by intensifying protests.

He demanded that the BJP leaders answer on the failure of the Central government in establishing steel plant, instead of blaming Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and TDP for political mileage.
