ATM gives out soiled, damaged currency notes

The consumers in Narsipatnam of Visakhapatnam district had the shock of their life when the currency notes of Rs 2000 denomination were found to be fake. Those who withdrew cash were surprised to find that the currency notes had ink marks and burn marks. 

This happened at the Central Bank ATM on Chintapalli Road. When the consumers went to the bank branch, which was one km away from the ATM, to lodge a complaint, the bank officials initially refused to entertain their plea. 

But, with the number of complainants growing, the bank officials inspected the cash in the ATM and on ascertaining that there indeed were rejected notes, they paid the customers on the basis of their ATM slips.
