BCs want 50 pc seats in Assembly polls
Rajamahendravaram: BC leaders have demanded the political parties to allot 50 percent of seats to them in the ensuing Assembly elections as the BC community forms 60 percent of population in the state.
Participating in BC welfare meeting held here on Wednesday, BC JAC chairman Margani Nageswara Rao and BC leader Narava Gopala Krishna said that this time the BCs would stick to their demand.
For several years, the parties were using BCs as their vote bank and after coming to power they were ignoring them.
The BC population was highest in the state when compared with other castes and BCs would become a deciding factor in the ensuing elections.
Instead of repeated reminders, the political parties were not considering the demand of the BCs.
Now, the BCs would work with one aim to get their share in the elections, they said.
They asked the BCs to join the association in huge numbers to prove their might.
