Boat capsizes, 8 persons rescued

Guntur: A boat, which started its journey from Nizampatnam harbour was accidentally drowned in the sea after travelling for 20 km away from the harbour in the early hours of Tuesday. The ill-fated boat was ferrying eight fishermen. 

According to sources, when the fishermen noticed that the back part of the boat was separated after travelling for 20 km, they immediately alerted and sent a message through the GPRS. 

Another boat was pressed into service immediately and rescued the eight fishermen. They returned to their homes safely. 
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, the owner of the drowned boat K Bishalu said that he incurred heavy losses due to the drowning.
