Amalapuram: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jaganmohan Reddy alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was still cheating the people with unpracticable promises, though the elections were fast approaching.

Addressing a huge gathering here on Tuesday evening as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, Jaganmohan Reddy said Naidu would come up with new promises again to retain power but the election manifesto of 2014 was not even seen on internet.

The Opposition leader said farmers had not been getting minimum support price (MSP) for the last four years under the TDP rule and the Chief Minister had not even wrote to the Central government on the issue. Along with paddy, coconut farmers, even fishermen were not getting better prices for their produce, he added.

Stating that the TDP government was reluctant to implement recommendations of Swaminathan Commission which help a lot the farmers in getting better prices for their produce, he called upon them to mount pressure on the state government in this regard.

Alleging that corruption had increased phenomenally in the state, he said Naidu was looting the state sitting in Amaravati while his party men were looting people at village level in the name of Janmabhoomi committees in mafia style. “He is not even leaving temple lands and temple jewellery.

He is looting sand, lands, mineral wealth but collectors and other officials are mum on this,” he said. Jaganmohan Reddy alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was treating Kapus as “anti-social elements” and many cases were registered against them in the police stations in Konaseema.
