Meet on urban greenery kicks off

Vijayawada: Director of Municipal Administration and Urban Development K Kannababu has stressed upon the need to increase greenery in the urban areas to enhance the beauty of the city and reduce the temperature levels. The state government is extending support to increase greenery in the urban areas, he said.

Kannababu on Tuesday inaugurated a three-day training programme for service providers (contractors) here.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Andhra Pradesh Urban Greening and Beautification Corporation (APUGBC) were trying to increase greenery in the municipalities and corporation and giving valuable suggestions and ideas.

The Managing Director of the APUGBC explained the objectives of the corporation. He said rainy season was suitable to plant saplings and growing plants.
