Provide jobs to locals, industrialists told

Kakinada: East Godavari Joint Collector A Mallikarjuna has asked the entrepreneurs to explore all possibilities in providing employment to local people in the units that would be established by them.

Reviewing the industrial development and establishment of new units in the district with ‘Industries Advisory Committee’ at Collectorate late on Monday, the JC asked the entrepreneurs to make a note on this particular issue.

Mallikarjuna reviewed the establishment of small and medium industrial units and their clearance, incentives, permissions and allied issues.

The JC directed the existing and new units to get the manpower requirements for the provision of employment in their respective units from Kaushal Godavari Employment Agency which has been conducting its operations from district Collectorate.

The Joint Collector revealed that in the current financial year (2018-19), infrastructure was developed for establishment of 456 tiny, small and medium units with an investment of Rs 356 crore and expected to provide employment to 7,650.

District Industries Centre deputy director David Sundar Kumar, APIIC ZM V Gopikrishna, Pollution Control Board EE Rammohan Naidu and others participated.
