TTD Board removes Ramana Deekshitulu as Agama advisor

Tirumala: The Trust Board meeting of TTD was held under the chairmanship of  Putta Sudhakar Yadav on Tuesday at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala.  In the meeting, TTD Board took many important  decisions.

The board appointed  Venugopala Deekshitulu as Pradhana Archaka (chief priest) of Tirumala temple and also as Agama Advisor in the place of former Chief Priest and Agama Advisor Dr AV Ramana Deekshitulu. Board  also appointed 12 AnuvansikaArchakas for kainka-ryams  in Tirumala temple.

TTD chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav, after the board meeting, addressed the media. He said that TTD board has sanctioned of Rs 36 crores to take up master plan development works in first phase at Vontimitta, and  another Rs 5.25 cr towards the construction of rest houses  there. 

Another important decision taken by the board is that it sanctioned  Rs 32.26crore togold malam (gold covering)  works of Vimana Gopuram of Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple. It sanctioned Rs 15  crorefor the construction of toilets in Tirumala under Master plan.

He said that TTD board has sanctioned Rs 75 lakhs each towards the construction of community halls at Parigi and Roddam mandals, and also given approval for Rs 27 lakhs towards the reconstruction of Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple at Chowluru village of Hindupur mandal of Anantapur district and  sanctioned of Rs 25 lakhs towards the renovation of Sri Chennakesava Swamy temple in Duddukuru village of Prakasam district.

He said that board has given green signal for the payment of Rs 1.25crore towards transportation charges to APSRTC under Divya Scheme of AP Government. Revenue earned by TTD through e-auction of human hair from April 2017 to April 2018 is Rs 133.32crores, added the TTD Chairman.

TTD EO AnilkumarSinghal and Endowments department Commissioner Anuradha and board members RaghavendraRao, Challa RamchandraReddy, RayapatiSambasiva Rao, Bonda Umamheswara Rao, DokkaJaganataham, SudhaNarayanamurthy andTirumal JEO Srinivas Raju have attended the board meeting.
