Students exhorted to donate blood

Chittoor: District Collector P S Pradyumna donated blood after inaugurating a blood donation camp at Vijayam Degree College here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector encouraged students to volunteer in donating blood as it would be helpful to save the lives of others during emergency. He advised students to change their lifestyle before they attain the age of 30 for better living.

He said the Indian Red Cross Society should take initiative in creating awareness about the merits of donating blood.  Mayor K Hemalatha, who attended as chief guest for blood donation camp, called on the students to cultivate the habit of donating blood. She made an appeal to students to wear helmets while driving.

Balaji Hatcheries Managing Director Dr V Sundara Naidu, Joint Collector-II V R Chandramouli, DMHO Dr Vijaya Gouri, Vijayam Degree College Principal Thejo Murthy and others took part in the blood donation camp.
