AP Govt keen to enhance ryots revenue

Visakhapatnam: The government is keen to increase the revenue of the farmers, said Minister for Roads and Buildings Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu.

In order to help the farmers to reduce the expenditure in the cultivation, the government is periodically conducting soil tests to inform the farmers about the strength of the soil. The farmers also should cultivate the crops according to the strength of the soil, Ayyannapatrudu said.

The minister participated in the ‘Yeruvaka’ programme and ploughed lands at Marripalem village in Natavaram mandal on Thursday. After ploughing the land, the minister also spilled the seeds to mark the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, he said ‘Yeruvaka’’ is a traditional festival and the present generation is not aware of the importance of the festival. Telugu traditions and importance of the agriculture would be propagated through the Yeruvaka programme, the minister added.

Later, he called upon farmers to utilise various schemes and progammes being implemented by the government. He also asked the farmers to utilise advanced agricultural tools and machines to minimise the expenditure and to earn good revenue.

Bhogapuram (Vizianagaram): Minister for Mines and Geology RVSK Ranga Rao, MP P Ashok Gajapathi Raju launched Yeruvaka programme at Polipalli village in Bhogapuram mandal in the district on Thursday. 

Later, Sujay said that it's our culture to offer prayers to earth before starting farming works in kharif season. The TDP government is protecting and continuing those traditions, he reminded.

The government is supporting the farmers by giving subsidies on tractors, seeds and farm equipment. He called upon the farmers to shun chemical fertilisers, pesticides and go for organic farming.

The government is committed to increase the income of farmers, he reiterated and suggested to the farmers to conduct soil testing to identify the deficit of minerals and micro nutrients. Zilla Parishad Chairperson S Swathi Rani, MLAs P Narayana Swamy Naidu, K Appala Naidu and others participated in the programme.
