Many employment opportunities in statistics field: Nagarjuna University Prof

Vijayawada: The statistics department of Parvathaneni Brahmaiah Siddhartha College conducted National Statistics Day on the occasion of birthday celebration of statistics expert Prashanth Chandra Mahnobis on the college premises here on Friday.

Nagarjuna University statistics department professor Dr K Chandan explained the importance of statistics in human life. He said that statistics plays vital role in the research. He also said that the students who completed their education in the statistics were getting employment opportunities in the respective field.  

College principal K Ramesh said that the students should identify the importance of statistics to get job opportunities. He also explained the greatness of Prashanth Chandra in statistics.

College Director Vemuri Babu Rao said that the college management decided to introduce statistics course in BSc Honors course also from the next academic year due to its importance.

College dean Acharya Jampala Rajesh also explained the importance of statistics role in various fields. 

He further said that the statistics software was also available. College statistics department head G Chakravarthi, faculty members A Mohana Rao, E Muralikrishna, A Balaji, D Madhulatha, M Sivaparvathi and students were also present at the meeting held.
