Rain creates havoc in Akiveedu town
Akiveedu: A few spells of rain is creating havoc in Akiveedu town causing inconvenience to people.
Many low-lying areas were marooned when it rained on Wednesday and Thursday. The areas close to national highway were marooned. Srinagar Colony and Santinagar were the worst hit localities in the town.
At Santa Market area, three feet water was stagnated because of the rain. Though the district administration has selected the village as best panchayat, people are wondering on what basis the panchayat was selected for the same.
A section of people in the village have been wading through knee-deep water to come out of their houses. They have been alleging that encroachments are the reason for blockage of drain system in the panchayat.
They are very much concerned about their state during the entire rainy season. They appealed to the authorities to make arrangement to pump out water from their premises.
