Chandrababu Naidu promises to make Amaravati a hardware and electronics hub
Guntur: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday announced that his government would develop the state capital Amaravati into a hardware and electronics hub to generate employment opportunities for the youth. He was speaking after inaugurating INVECAS Technologies Pvt Ltd and VEDA IIT along with Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao here.
Stating that the state is importing electronic goods worth $400 bn from various countries at present, the Chief Minister said there was a need to focus on electronic goods production. He reminded that the government has already started virtual classrooms to use technology.
Underling that semiconductors are playing a major role, the CM said that they will set up semiconductor park in Amaravati soon. He recalled that so far 230 IT companies were set up at a cost of Rs 10,000 crore which gave employment to 42,000 youth in the state and added that job opportunities will increase in the days to come in this sector.
Naidu recalled how he promoted IT In Hyderabad and how was promoting hardware and electronics in Amaravati. He said that the state had started chip designing in the ecosystem and that Amazon, Flipkart business increased phenomenally in 11 years.
He urged B Tech graduates to start industrial units and give jobs to others instead of waiting for jobs. He reminded that due to development of technology the state was able to predict cyclones, lightning, in advance. He said the government was using IT to implement welfare schemes.
IT Minister N Lokesh said that of every 100-cell phone sold in India, 26 are manufactured in AP. He said the government has set a target to generate 2-lakh jobs in the field of electronics. He thanked the INVECAS Technologies LTD management for setting up the company in the state.
It may be mentioned here that the AP NRT Society had made efforts to bring INVECAS to AP on behalf of the government. AP NRT Society president Vemuru Ravi Kumar was also present on the occasion.
