‘Cablemen should pay for using electric poles’

Visakhapatnam: T Surya Prakash, superintending engineer (operations), Visakhapatnam Circle, said in a release that a meeting was held on Saturday with the cable operators in the GVMC area and decided to collect Rs 50 from those cable operators who are using the electric poles for hanging their cables in the city. 

The operators in the mandals and village areas have to pay Rs 35 per pole. Another meeting with the cable operators would be convened at APEPDCL circle office on July 2 at 4 pm and all the cable operators should participate in the meeting, the SE, said.
