Collector’s fiat to pvt hospitals on dengue

 Visakhapatnam: Private hospitals and diagnostic centres should not confirm the dengue but they should send the blood samples of the suspected patients to the King George Hospital and NTR Area Hospital, Anakapalle, for the confirmation of dengue. 

Private hospitals and diagnostic centres should not collect money from the patients for screening of dengue confirmation test.

Collector Pravin Kumar issued orders to all the private hospitals and diagnostic centres in Visakhapatnam to follow the directions with immediate effect. The Collector convened a meeting with the managements of private hospitals and diagnostic centres here on Saturday and reviewed the situation of dengue and malaria in the district.

Addressing a meeting, the Collector made it clear that the fever confirmation tests would be conducted at the locations only. The private hospital managements should send the dengue patients’ details and treatment reports to the district medical and health officer daily, the Collector said. All the private hospital managements also directed to provide medical aid to the tribal patients coming to the city, he added.

The Collector also directed the officials to ensure enough blood reserves and also blood test kits at all the Primary Health Centres in the district. The medical officers at the KGH and NTR Area Hospital should send their test results within 24 hours to the respective hospitals, the Collector directed.

The diagnostic centres have been working at Narsipatnam, Paderu and Bheemili and all sort of blood tests would be conducted in the centres, he added.
