Intensive insulin therapy saves woman’s life

Vijayawada: With the advanced Intensive Insulin Therapy treatment, a chronic diabetic patient N Nageswaramma got a new lease of life, said diabetes specialist K Venugopal Reddy, chairman of VGR Diabetes Specialty Hospitals here on Sunday.

Addressing the media, the doctor said that a 55 years old patient was brought to the hospital under unconscious state on June 22. 

On examining, she had high sugar levels 801 mg/dl along with kidney failure, urinary infection, heart problem and suffered fits. 

He said with the increased blood sugar levels, other organs were affected which resulted in fits.

With the efforts of the hospital doctors, the sugar levels of the patient came normal and the patient organs were working normally and could save the life of the patient, he said.
