Naxalism totally curbed in state: Malakondaiah

Vijayawada: Praising the services of police, the outgoing DGP M Malakondaiah said on Saturday, the police had done excellent job in curbing Naxalism and anti-social elements in the state. He said the police are successfully maintaining the law order with determination and efficiency. 

The DGP retired on Saturday and he was felicitated at the state police head quarters here. The police officials and staff accorded a grand farewell to the retired IPS senior officer on the occasion ofhis superannuation. Addressing on the occasion, Malakondaiah said the police successfully checked Naxalism and goondaism in the state. He said the police is using modern technology to detect the crimes and delivery of services.

He further said after bifurcation of the state, the government has recruited 6000 police personnel. Malakondaiah has said the government is allotting more funds for the welfare of police personnel and urged the police officials to be competitive to render better services to the people. He took the charge as DGP from his predecessor N Sambasiva Rao on December 31, 2017.  He handed over the charge to R P Thakur, the new DGP of the state.
