Brahmotsavams conclude with Chakra Snanam

Tirupati: With the celestial Chakra snanam on Sunday morning, curtains came down to the annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple at Appalayagunta, 20 km from here.

Earlier, the processional deities and Sudarshana Chakrattalwar were rendered Snapana Tirumanjanam followed by holy dip, Chakrasnanam to Chakrattalwar. In the evening, Dhwajavarohanam was observed, where the traditional Garuda flag, hoisted on the temple pillar on the first day was lowered amidst chanting of Veda mantras marking the successful completion of the nine-day Brahmotsavams.

Devotees from surrounding villages and Tirupati city turned in good numbers to witness the last day event festival in the shrine. Temple Special Grade deputy executive officer Munirathnam Reddy, AEO Subrahmanyam and Superintendent Gopala Krishna Reddy took part in the fete.
