Collector sanctions 10L to Government General Hospital

Kurnool: District Collector, S Sathyanarayana allocated Rs.10 lakhs for providing essential amenities at the newly constructed maternity ward in Government General Hospital.  He visited the maternity and paediatric wards constructed in MCH block and inspected the operation and the medical equipment. 

Later speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the presently sanctioned Rs.10 lakhs is an additional amount of Rs.50 lakhs that was sanctioned earlier from the hospital development funds. 

For controlling the child and mother mortality rate in the district, the collector ordered hospital superintendent Dr P Chandrasekhar to immediately procure essential medical equipment at critical care unit. Responding to the collector’s orders, Dr P Chandrasekhar said that advanced medical equipment have been set up at modular theatre. He brought to the notice of the Collector that the maternity block is ready for inauguration.

Prior to the inspection, city MLA, SV Mohan Reddy inaugurated a programme of changing bed sheets, containing seven colours, at super specialty block. He said the state government has sanctioned bed sheets printed with seven colours and they have to be changed every day.  

Later, the District collector S Sathyanarayana, MLA SV Mohan Reddy, hospital superintendent Dr P Chandrasekhar, District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr Prasad, Gastroenterologist Dr Shankar Sharma, Dr Seetharamaiah, Dr Sree Ramulu and other doctors celebrated Doctors’  Day by cutting cake at the premises.
