Nellore: District convener of the YSR Congress Kakani Govardhan Reddy said that Dalita Tejam meeting is an utter-flop in the district which crowded with contracted staff members and party workers. He addressed the media on Sunday at the party office and said there was clear indication that Dalit population avoided the meet expressing their non-cooperation to the party.

“TDP leaders said that around one lakh Dalit population would attend the meet. But, they arranged only 8,000 chairs and still 1,000 chairs were vacant which shows poor response to the state level meet even though they paid Rs. 500; provided food and transportation to them. It was not proper to describe Chandrababu Naidu as Abhinava Ambedkar, said Govardhan Reddy.

YSR Congress leader said the meet exposed clear indications from Dalit population about their stance of showing interest with the opposition.
Sullurpet legislator and Dalit leader K Sanjeevaiah said it was only melodrama for last two months creating confusion among the innocent.

He also said that the Chief Minister should have bent down before the statues of Dalit stalwarts like Ambedkar and Jagjivan Ram in the meeting offering sincere excuses for his earlier remarks.

Sanjeevaiah said that Chandrababu was responsible for splits among the SC population with categorisation proposal and now people are only with Jagan. Local leaders were present at the press meet.
