Prakasam District Collector orders officials to monitor sanitation

Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand ordered the officials of the local bodies to inspect the sanitation situation and take up necessary action to control spreading of diseases like dengue and malaria in the coming season. He set July 15 as the deadline for the officials to complete the task without fail.

The Collector said the officials should be very alert as the monsoon entered the district they should not allow mosquitoes to grow in their area. He ordered the constituency and mandal special officers to inspect the villages on Tuesday by walk and understand the sanitation condition. 

He ordered the municipal commissioners to do the same and asked the panchayat commissioners also to take responsibility in their villages. He ordered them to remove stagnated water and throw oil balls to control the mosquitoes. He asked the green ambassadors to shift the dung heaps to the waste management centres.

He ordered the officials to be alert always and prevent epidemic breakout again in areas like Darsi, Mundlamuru, Talluru, Addanki, Santhamaguluru, Bestavaripet, Tripurantakam and other mandals as last year. He asked everyone including the MPDOs, Tahsildars, EOPRDs to involve public representatives like MPPs and surpanches in the sanitation programmes. 

He ordered the officials to check the quality of drinking water being supplied to the public and make sure the PHCs have stock of required medicine. Joint Collector S Nagalakshmi, Additional Joint Collector D Markandeyulu, Assistant Collector T Nishanti, ZP CEO Kailas Giriswar, DPO NSSV Prasad and other officials also participated in the meeting.
