Rationalise school fees: AP Students JAC
Ongole: The Andhra Pradesh Students JAC demanded that the District Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand to rationalise the school fees in Prakasam district.
The JAC president, Rayapati Jagadeesh requested the Collector that there was a need to control the looting of money by the corporate schools in the name of fees in the district.
Jagadeesh said that many of the corporate and private schools in the district were collecting from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh in the name of tuition fees. He announced that JAC members would visit the corporate schools and private schools on Tuesday and Wednesday and submit a report to the government on the fees they were collecting and the facilities they were providing.
Murali, district secretary of the JAC said that the schools were forcing to sit hundreds of students in small classrooms to make profits.
The Collector, Vinay Chand assured the students that a committee would be formed by the district education officer to inquire on the higher amount of fees being collected by the schools.
