Approach roads to all SC colonies: Somireddy

Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that they would allocate funds for laying approach roads to all the SC colonies in the district. Yet, the state government would take a decision shortly, he added. 

The Minister inaugurated 30-bedded Community Health Centre (CHC) at Venkatachalam here on Tuesday. He said the TD government had allocated additional funds for medical and health sector to provide better services to the poor.

He also informed that they had constructed CHC with Rs 4.33 crore in around 16,614 square feet with state-of-the-art equipment. Minister also said the government had shifted district headquarters hospital to Atmakur upgrading the local area hospital for convenience of the population. 

“Medical services are being provided to the poor in Podalakur, Kodur and in Venkatachalam areas in Sarvepalli constituency on par with corporate hospitals,” the Minister explained.

Somireddy also said that ophthalmic services to the patients are available in Podalakur Eye Hospital. State government has been allocating sufficient funds to all sectors, he added.

Somireddy said that 18 villages in Venkatachalam mandal were being developed under Rurban project. Further, Minister visited nursery of the Social Forestry wing in Venkatachalam and enquired about feasibility to develop it as a tourism spot.

TDP Sarvepalli constituency in-charge S Rajagopal Reddy and others were present. Further, hundreds of Anganwadi staff members met the Agriculture Minister at Aditya Nagar office in the city and expressed their happiness over increasing their salaries.

He assured them that the TD government is committed to their welfare and were constructing new buildings for the Anganwadi centres across the state. He also addressed the party coordination committee meeting in the city.
