DIET-2018 results released
Visakhapatnam: For the first time, very less number of candidates have been qualified than the number of available seats in Diploma in Elementary Education Common Entrance Test (known as DIET) – 2018 in the state.
A total of 67,750 seats are available in both Government and Private colleges. However, this year, only 44,120 candidates have been qualified in the DIET- 2018. The DIET was conducted from May 15 to 18 across the state.
Minister for Human Resources Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao, along with the Commissioner of School Education Sandhya Rani and Convenor of DIET-2018 Parvathi, released the results here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that a total of 52,936 aspirants appeared to the test and 44,120 candidates only qualified in the DIET. The Krishna, West Godavari and Srikakulam districts stood in the first three places with 87.2, 86.26 and 86.11 percentages respectively, the minister said.
The first phase of counselling would be conducted from July 11 to 22 and second phase would be from July 30 to August 8, the minister said. Talking about the more number of seats available in the state, the minister said that directions have been issues to check the standards of the colleges and the colleges which have been not following the prescribed standards those would be shutdown. If, need an task force committee would be appointed to check the private colleges, he added.
