Tirupati: Lok Satta Party (LSP) State President Bhisetty Babji has asked the Central government to announce ‘Padma Shri’ for legendary Telugu actor SV Ranga Rao. Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, he called upon the State government to propose the name of SV Ranga Rao for ‘Padma Shri’ and to conduct his centenary celebrations in all 13 districts in a grand manner.

The LSP chief said that party steering committee meeting would be held in Tirupati on Wednesday in which they would discuss at length on the need for a political change in the state which is the need of the hour. At a meeting held in Vijayawada on June 20 in which CPM and CPI national leaders BV Raghavulu and D Raja and other leaders from like-minded parties have participated and took stock of the present political scenario in the state.

As part of that, the party would organise several conventions across the state starting from Visakhapatnam on July 8 which would focus on labour issues. These conventions would continue till October at all places. A bus yatra would also be taken up by the party across the state. He found fault with all political parties in the state criticising that they have shelved the issue of special category status to AP and fully immersed in election politics.
