Meet on environmental changes held
Vijayawada: Paryavarana Parirakshana Vedika convener Srinivas has said appropriate measures to save drinking water is the need of the hour.
He was the chief guest at a programme on ‘Threats with the Environmental changes and Solutions’ organised by Chemistry Club Analyte (CCA) of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas said that with the changing environmental conditions, water was getting contaminated and fluoride content in water was creating arthritis problems. To get rid of the arthritis, pain killers were being used affecting kidneys, he said.
He said that coal reserves were decreasing gradually. Carbon dioxide is drastically increasing in the city and to overcome this, more and more trees and greenery were needed.
The college CCA organised Rainbow week-long and competitions were held on environment pollution and consequences and students’ role from June 25 to July 2. Various events were organised and the winners were given prizes by the college Chemistry HoD Dr Kalpana.
