Paramour held for woman’s murder
Srikakulam: Police unravelled the murder mystery of a woman here on Tuesday. According to Superintendent of Police Dr CM Trivikrama Varma, Pandiri Neelaveni was killed brutally on Monday night. Police registered it is a murder case under Section 302 of IPC instead of suspicious death under section 174 of CrPC and took up investigation.
According to police, Neelaveni had reportedly developed an illicit relationship with one Gontu Ashok where her husband Laxmana Rao was working. After some time, Neelaveni had blackmailed Ashok and demanded money, or else she had threatened to disclose about their relationship. Meanwhile, Ashok parents had fixed a match to marry him off.
In order to clear path for his marriage, Ashok decided to eliminate Neelaveni. In the meantime, Ashok hatched a plan and picked up Neelaveni and took her into cashew orchards near Lingalavalasa in Tekkali mandal and killed her by hitting with a beer bottle, damaged her cell phone and covered the murder spot by sprinkling chilli powder. The accused Ashok took the gold ornaments from the deceased and tried to sell it at Narasannapeta. Police, who are tracking the accused, nabbed him on Tuesday.
