Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Christian Elders and Pastors Association (VCEPA) along with Christian organisations, Dalit leaders and Dalit organisations from all over Vijayawada demanded that the government unconditionally cancel the orders given to Viswabrahmin community for construction of a community hall, which was earlier allocated to Dalit Christians for construction of their community hall in 12.5 cents land at Kasturibaipet.

According to VCEPA president Rev Kodali Elia here on Tuesday, the government had allotted 12.5 cents land at Kasturibaipet in 2014 to VCEPA to construct a community hall.

He said that a joint survey was held by VMC Commissioner and Tahsildar before allotting the said land. The association had paid an amount of Rs 6.6 lakh to the government in this regard after allotment of the land.

He alleged that the government had intentionally assigned the land to Vishwabrahmin community which was already given to Dalit Christians after the payment was done.

Rev P Karunanidhi, Rev M Vijaya Rao, C Prabhakar, Rev T Ananda Rao, GAV Prasad and other Christian and Dalit leaders were present.
