Alluri Sitaramara Raju inspiration for all, says Rajamahendravaram Mayor

Rajamahendravaram: Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai has said that the great freedom-fighter, Alluri Sitaramara Raju is an inspiration to all and the youth should emulate him. 

He acted against the British with committment and dedication to get freedom to the country, she said.

Participating in 121st jayanthi celebrations of Alluri at Ganesh Chowk here on Wednesday, he said that he also fought for the welfare of tribals and sacrificed his life for the country. 

The people cannot forget his sacrifice and he was still alive in the hearts of the people. She underlined the need to include his life history in the curriculum.

MLC Adireddy Appa Rao said  Alluri Sitarama Raju fought against the British to get independence to the country and he was the only leader who strived for the welfare of tribals. 

He was a man with committment and true spirit and the students should know about the great freedom-fighter.

Sub-Collector CM Saikantha Varma said Sitarama Raju stayed for a few years in the city and underlined the need to protect his memories, if any. 

Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi said Alluri Sitarama Raju Chowk would be developed and people remind his sacrifice forever.

Earlier, they paid tributes to Alluri Sitarama Raju by garlanding his statue.

Participating in another meeting at Gorakshanapeta, city MLA Dr Akula Satyanarayana said the great warrior Alluri Sitamarama Raju had a page in the history of independence. Everyone should remember the great leader.
