Man burns alive wife, paramour in Nellore
Nellore: A woman and her alleged paramour were burnt alive after her husband, in a fit of rage on seeing them in a compromising position, set fire the thatched house at Kollamitta village in Muthukur mandal here on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Kavitha, 35, and her alleged paramour Sreenu, of the same village. According to police, Haribabu, of Kollamitta village, married Kavitha from the same village 20 years ago. The couple has two daughters. Kavitha, vexed with his bad habits including addiction to alcohol, left him and had been living separately with her two children for some years.
She even performed marriage of her elder daughter without any support from husband. Kavitha is alleged to have been in a relation with a local man Sreenivas for some years, which added strain to her marital life. Sreenivas has reportedly been regularly visiting her house since she began living separately.
According to police, Sreenivas visited house of Kavitha on Wednesday morning. Haribabu who went to the place, had allegedly seen Kavitha and Sreenivas in a compromising position. Unable to control his anger, he locked the door and set the thatched house on fire. As Kavitha and Sreenivas began screaming for help, two neighbours rushed to their help, but were threatened by Haribabu to stay off.
Haribabu fled from the scene after concluding Kavitha and Sreenivas had died. Muthukur police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies for postmortem. Rural DSP K Raghava Reddy said that Haribabu has been living alone for the last two years and was addicted to liquor. The DSP said Haribabu set house on fire after he noticed Sreenivas entering the house in the morning hours. A manhunt is on to nab Haribabu, he added.
