Women writers meet on July 6 in Tirupati
Tirupati: A two-day ‘Northeast and Southern Women Writers’ meet will be organised at Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidayalayam (SPMVV) here on Friday and Saturday.
Sahitya Akademi (The National Academy of Letters, India) Regional Office, Bengaluru, is organising the women writers’ meet which will be inaugurated by Akademi president Dr Chandrasekhar Kambar and SPMVV vice-chancellor Dr V Durga Bhavani will preside. Eminent Tamil writer G Thilakavathi will address the session..
The inaugural session will be followed by a multilingual poetry recitation by north-east and southern women poets, where in Bengali Borgohain (Assamese), Shanti Basumatary (Bodo), K Sharifa ( Kannada), Roshni Swapna (Malayalam), Maya Nepram (Manipuri), Geeta Chetri (Nepali), Salma (Tamil, Mandarapu Hymavathi (Telugu) will recite their poems. Sahitya Akademi is also holding a book exhibition with discount sale of its publications for the benefit of the public on these two days.
