Additional funds for ST housing: Narayana
Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana has informed that the state government is considering allocating additional funds for housing of the ST population in the state. He inaugurated housing complex in 54th division in the city on Thursday.
Speaking to the media, the Minister alleged the then state government had constructed houses for the poor with very poor quality and misused Rs 4,200 crore public funds.
The houses constructed during the Congress government are ready to collapse due to poor quality of material used for construction, he added. The state government had decided to construct housing for the poor with quality standards in all municipal areas, the Minister mentioned.
He also explained that as many as 19,200 houses have been inaugurated on Thursday across the district. State and Central governments have been providing financial assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh for each house, he stated.
The Minister said poor people are expressing happiness over quality construction of houses with required standards, he added. Narayana slammed Opposition for making unnecessary comments on quality issues without proper knowledge.
Further, the Minister distributed Prathiba awards to the students at BVS High School. He also reviewed with Sadhikara Mitras at his camp office here. City Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz, Corporation Commissioner S Alim Basha, former legislator M Sridhara Krishna Reddy and others were present.
