e-Autos to be introduced in Guntur

Guntur: e-Auto rickshaws will be introduced in the city soon to check air and sound pollution. A trail run of rechargeable e-Autos was conducted at the Collectorate here on Thursday. Collector Kona Sasidhar enquired about performance of e-Autorickshaws. 

He conducted a test drive, along with GMC Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar, at the Collectorate. He felt that rechargeable e-Auto rickshaws will check air and sound pollution. He said that at present 30,000 autos are plying in the city and these auto rickshaws are polluting the city. 

He said that he will encourage e-Autos. While cost of petrol and diesel autorickshaw is Rs 3.5-lakh while cost of e-Autorickshaw is Rs.1.5 lakh. He felt that there is a need to replace the old auto rickshaws with e-Autorickshaws.
