6 Acres allotted to Christian Cemeteries: MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary
Rajamahendravaram: Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary has said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is marching ahead with development and welfare activities in spite of funds crunch in the state.
Speaking to reporters at Press Club here on Friday, he said that steps were also taken to address the problems in urban constituency. As many as six acres of land was allotted to Christian cemeteries and handed over the land to municipal corporation.
If necessary, two more acres would also be allotted. The government had sanctioned an amount of Rs 1 crore for providing necessary facilities in the cemetery. The Christian community members also came forward to extend help in this regard.
The government had sanctioned an amount of Rs 2.95 crore for development activities in training college at Bommuru which includes labaratory, auditorium etc and Rs 2 crore sanctioned for a hostel also.
Steps were initiated to develop Garimella Satyanarayana Training College in the city and Rs 1 crore sanctioned for Kapu Kalyana Mandapam along with Rs 90 lakh to nine BC Kalyana Mandapams in rural constituency, he added.
The river bund between Saibaba temple in Dowlesawaram to Janardhan Swamy temple would also be strengthened with an estimated cost of Rs 7.27 crore. A disposable plant would also come up at a cost of Rs 82 crore. Moreover, 30 kms length of drains would also be coming up in the city shortly.
The government deposited an amount of Rs 2.5 crore to South Central Railway to combat inundation problem at Goods Shed. About 4,000 houses would come up in 80 acres of land in rural constituency.
