CPM stages protest to condemn BJP over SCS in Bhimavaram
Bhimavaram: Condemning the ‘cheating nature’ of the ruling BJP by not according Special Category Status, the activists and leaders of CPM staged an innovative protest by closing eyes at Prakasam Chowk here on Friday.
The agitators alleged that by filing an affidavit in apex court stating that all promises to AP mentioned in bifurcation act were fulfilled, the BJP had misled even the judiciary leave alone people of the State.
The party district leader, JN Gopalan, charged the BJP with playing manipulating tactics. At the time of discussion in Parliament on bifurcation, the BJP had recommended SCS for 10 years.
However, when it came to power it changed its stance and had been cheating people of AP for four years, he alleged.
M Sitaram Prasad, another leader of CPM, also came down heavily on the BJP for neglecting new State of AP when the latter direly needed Centre’s help.
The CPM leaders, B Varma, B Vasudeva Rao and others also participated in the agitation.
