Every acre in state will receive water: Minister Devineni Uma
Vijayawada: Minister for water resources Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu aimed at providing water to every acre in the state.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Uma Maheswara Rao said that the BJP, Opposition parties YSR Congress and Jana Sena were criticising the TDP government without a rhyme and reason. Describing BJP, YSRCP and Jana Sena “real culprits”, he wondered as to how the YSR Congress and Congress leaders were criticising the plans of the state government for utilising Godavari waters.
Stating that the opposition parties want to create disputes among people of state, he asserted that the government would protect the interests of Godavari districts and provide water to third crop in the respective districts. The minister said the government spent Rs 54,000 crore for various irrigation projects during the last four years.
He asked former ministers Kanna Lakshminarayana, Botsa Satyanarayana and Dharmana Prasada Rao as to why they did not complete irrigation projects in their tenure. Now they were carrying out false propaganda against the government for political interests, he said. The minister said that the people would teach a fitting lesson to them in the next elections.
