Focus on new tech, innovation for State capital development: Chandrababu Naidu
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will participate in several bilateral meetings and debates in the three-day World Cities Summit Mayors Forum (WCSMF) to be held in Singapore from July 8 to 10.
The WCSMF is being organised in Singapore once in two years. Mayors of over 120 cities are expected to participate in the meeting aimed at developing smart cities. The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) set up a pavilion at the venue site with the cooperation of Economic Development Board.
On the first day, Naidu will address the meeting on how state and city level governments can work together to better prepare themselves to embrace innovation, adopt new technologies and ensure inclusive growth to focus on the differing roles and responsibilities of state and city-level governments in attracting infrastructure financing.
He will also address on livable and sustainable cities: embracing the future through innovation and collaboration. In the afternoon session, Naidu will participate in a bilateral meeting with Singapore Minister for Communication and Information S Iswaran.
On second day,Naidu will attend the plenary session along with Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickramesinghe. The topic of the session will be Urbanisation – water, environment and transport management. Naidu will participate in panel discussion along with World bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva, UAE environment minister Thani Al Zeyoudi, Jacobs chairman Steven Demetriou, Dassault systems vice-chairman Bernand Charles.
Later, the Chief Minister will deliver keynote address on potential investment opportunities and dynamic economic development for state of Andhra Pradesh.During the three-day tour, Naidu will meet and discuss with Singapore Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat, National Development Minister Lawrence Wong andCommunication Minister S Eswaran.
The Chief Minister will also discuss with Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Sri Lanka Prime Minister RanilWickramesinghe. The Chief Minister will participate in award presentation programme in Lee Kuan Yew Institute along with Minister for Finance Heng SweeKeat.
The Chief Minster will discuss with German agri business experts to increase agricultural production in state using modern technology. It may be noted that Singapore has been using German technology for development of agricultural sector in the country.
A team of noted builders, consultants, architects and designers are also attending the summit. The Chief Minister is going to introduce the team to international experts in construction sector to adopt new technology in development of Amaravati.
Finance Minister YanamalaRamakrishnudu, Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, secretary to Chief Minister Sai Prasad, CRDA chief secretary Ajay Jain, CRDA commissioner Ch Sridhar will accompany the Chief Minister in the tour.
