Over 5k sacked Sakshara Bharat staff stage protest in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: Over 5,000 Sakshara Bharat employees and their family members from across the state on Friday staged a protest rally demanding that the government reinstate them in their jobs.
The employees raising slogans against the government decision staged a rally from Gandhi Nagar. According to reports, over 20,000 contract and outsourcing employees were removed from the services by the government recently.
It was a tough time for police to control thousands of Sakshara Bharat employees who staged demonstration demanding justice. Addressing gathering at Dharna Chowk, BJYM leader Vishnuvardhan Reddy, who participated in the rally extending support to Sakshara Bharat employees, demanded the government to spell out the reason behind sacking of the employees.
He recalled Sakshara Bharat employees played a key role in making the state as Swachh Andhra Pradesh and appreciated the employees for their participation in ODF programme in the state.
The employees said a peaceful protest will be held till the government announced a decision, failing which they will intensify their protest. All the employees are intermediate and 10th class qualified only and the sole bread winners of the families.
