- National Lok Adalat is a platform for people to settle their cases amicably: DLSA Chairman
- Says Lok Adalat would be held on July 14
Tirupati: For those interested in settling their compoundable cases amicably, the National Lok Adalat provides a good platform and people can come forward voluntarily said, Principal District Judge Junaid Ahmed Moulana, who is also the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
Addressing a meeting held at court premises on Saturday with judiciary, police officers, insurance companies and others he cautioned everyone that the parties should not be forced for settlement and they should come to Lok Adalat with their willingness only.
He called upon the insurance companies, police officers and advocates to cooperate in settling good number of cases. The Lok Adalat will be held on July 14 and this time the main focus will be on criminal compoundable cases.
Third Additional District Judge C Purushotham Kumar has said that during the past three national Lok Adalats held in December 2017, has settled maximum number of 85 cases and requested the Superintendent of Tirupati Urban Police Abhishek Mohanty to assist the judiciary in settling the cases which are compoundable.
Responding positively, SP Mohanty has said that the idea of new district judge to have a joint session of Judiciary and Police much before the national Lok Adalat was very good and will take all those concerned in a right direction.
With this a strategy can be planned out that gives much better outcome than walking independently. However, police officers should concentrate on creating awareness to parties who are involved in cases due to lack of knowledge and let them come voluntarily before Lok Adalat and should not be compelled in any case.
He advised his officers to focus on criminal cases, compoundable criminal cases and old criminal cases and create awareness among the concerned and for the purpose of statistics they should not go against the spirit of Lok Adalat.
Tirupati RDO G Narasimhulu, Bar Association President Vasudeva Raju, other judges G Rama Gopal, SV Narasimha Raju, G Anwar Basha, APSRTC Regional Manager T Chengal Reddy and others took part.
