Manugunta Mahidhar Reddy to join YSRCP
Kandukur: Former Minister and Congress leader Manugunta Mahidhara Reddy announced that he will join the YSR Congress Party on July 11 in the presence of party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Mahidhar Reddy, who won as an MLA for three times on Congress ticket, worked as the Municipal Minister in the Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinet. Sensing tough waves, he didn’t contest in 2014 Assembly elections and maintained equidistance to all the political parties.
Though he wanted to join the ruling party, the local TDP leaders opposed it. He is expected to join the YSR Congress Party during Jaganmohan Reddy padayatra in Kandukur but he took more time to decide his future.
With the interference from Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Mahidhar Reddy met YSRCP leader V Vijayasai Reddy in Tirupati. After the assurances from YSRCP leaders Bhumana Karunakara Reddy, V Varaprasad Rao, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and others, Mahidhar Reddy announced his decision. He assured the YSRCP leadership that he will extend his support to the party activities.
On Sunday, he asked the support of the local supporters, who met him at Kandukur, and said that they should go hand in hand with the existing YSRCP cadre in the constituency. He assured importance and priority to his supporters joining the YSRCP, along with him, and asked them not to worry about their future.
