Chittoor to achieve 100% child nutrition enrichment
Chittoor: As per the instructions of the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu , it is decided to achieve 100 percent nutrition enrichment in Chittoor district, says District Collector P S Pradyumna.
As many as 11,000 nutrition deficit children are there in the district as per the official survey conducted by ICDS, and steps would be taken to provide supplement nutrition for all the children before October 2018. ``Though the Chief Minister directed to declare Chittoor as nutrition complete district by March 2019, the goal will be achieved by October 2018” he added.
Abhaya Sai Trust organised a programme here on Monday where in books and televisions were distributed to the government schools and Anganwadi centres. District Collector participated in the programme as chief guest.
On the occasion, Collector reiterated that the Government has decided to provide television sets to all the Anganwadi Preschools in the district in a phased manner. So far 1100, Anganwadi Preschools were given TVs and the remaining 2,000 centres would be covered shortly. There is a proposal to sanction play equipment to all the Anganwadi centres,’’ he said.
He stressed that public should come forward to contribute 10 percent cost of the infrastructure to the schools while the Government would bear the remaining 90 percent cost. Participating in the programme, Chittoor MLA D A Satya Prabha said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was committed for strengthening the education front.
Chittoor Mayor K.Hemalatha, Chittoor MLC B.N.Rajasimhulu, Sai Abhaya Trust Founder Naresh Reddy and others spoke. The Trust has distributed Rs.15 lakhs worth of text books and note books.
