Guntur Municipal Corporation conducts trial run of Anna canteens

​Guntur: Guntur Municipal Corporation  will set up Anna Canteens at eight places in the city. A trial run was conducted at three places to start the canteens on Sunday. The canteens would be set up at ID Hospital at Amaravati Road, RTO office at JKC College Road and Guntur Mirchi Yard.

The aim of the government is to set up Anna Canteens to provide food at cheaper prices. While, Akshaya Patra will provide food, the GMC engineering wing will provide necessary infrastructure for setting up Anna Canteens. Speaking on this occasion, GMC Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar said that the canteens supply tiffin at Rs 5, lunch at Rs 5 and dinner at Rs 5. 

He said that they will set up some more Anna Canteens at Nallacheruvu, Narasaraopet Road, Palnadu Bus Stand, NTR Circle near RTC Bus Stand and Pedapalakalur within a month.
