Buddhist tourism circuit work gains traction

Visakhapatnam: The Central government had sanctioned Rs 52.33 crore to develop the Buddhist centres in the state under the SwadesiDarsanprogramme. Under the programme, a Buddhist circuit will be developed clubbing the Salihundam, Thotlakonda, Bavikonda, Bojjannakonda, and Amaravathi.

As a part of the programme, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao laid a foundation stone at Thotlakonda in the district on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the state government is very keen to develop Visakhapatnam as a tourism hub.
