Sawang hands over charge to Joint Commissioner of Police

Vijayawada: Commissioner of Police Gautam Sawang, who has been posted as the DG of Vigilance and Enforcement recently, relieved from duty on Tuesday. He handed over the charge to the Joint Commissioner of Police Kanti Rana Tata. 

It may be recalled Sawang was in the race for the post of DGP. But, he missed the chance due to unknown reasons. Later, he was transferred to the vigilance and enforcement department and appointed as the DG. He has introduced many reforms during the past three years and maintained law and order successfully in the commissionerate limits.

The government has not appointed the new commissioner. It is expected it will take place after Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu returning from Singapore tour.
