Yarlagadda family gets pat for donating land

Parchuru: The state government has introduced the Mission Gandeeva to encourage sports in the state, announced the Sports Minister Kollu Raveendra.

He laid foundation stone to the Yarlagadda Eeswarachandra Vidyasagar Sports Ground (NTR Kreeda Vikasa Kendram) in YR High School in Parchuru on Tuesday.

The minister appreciated the donors of 3 acre land for the Sports Ground, Yarlagadda Ramanatha Babu and Uma Devi for their commitment to encourage sports in the rural area.

He said that a shopping complex will be built around the ground for the maintenance of the ground and providing other infrastructure.

He announced that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu wants everyone to be active by participating in the sports and games.

He said that the state government was constructing sports complexes at Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Tirupati with an expenditure of Rs 300 crore.

The local MLA, Eluri Sambasivarao, SAAP chairman P Ankamma Chowdary,  AMC Chairman Ch Ramakrishna, STEP CEO Dr B Ravi and others also participated in the programme.
