Chandrababu Naidu to launch Vanam-Manam on July 14 at Nuzvid IIIT campus
Amaravati: One of the flagship programmes of the State government in increasing the green cover in the State, Vanam–Manam, will be launched by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu formally on July 14 at Nuzvid IIIT campus.
The Vanam–Manam will continue till the Kartheeka Vana Samaradhana programme in November. Minister for Forests Sidda Raghava Rao said that this programme will be executed with the coordination of 22 government departments.
He directed the officials concerned to make available 26 crore saplings for plantation across the State at all the public places, during a review meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
On the very first day of launching the programme, the department is planning to plant at least five thousand saplings along with Chandrababu Naidu in Nuzvid itself. The Minister said that the department will create awareness among the public on the need to increase the green cover and educate the public to protect the saplings that they plant.
