AP Left to conduct seminar on Urban development
Vijayawada: CPI and CPM will conduct state-level seminar on urban development here on August 15. CPM state committee member Ch Babu Rao and CPI city secretary Donepudi Sankar said that the State and Central governments were neglected the urban areas during the last four years.
They said that the governments were developing the cities for some parts only. They said that the people were deprived of development in slums in the cities. They termed that the development was changed as a commercial activity under Amrut Scheme.
They lamented that not a single house for the poor was constructed in Vijayawada city during the past four years. CPI city secretary Shankar said that the Central and State governments had failed to develop the cities. The government did not release funds for towns and cities according to guidelines, he said.
