BJP says state getting special treatment
Visakhapatnam: BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana said the NDA government was committed to the development of Andhra Pradesh and provide necessary funds for its projects and welfare schemes.
Addressing media here on Thursday, he said the Centre was giving special treatment for Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of the state and extending all help for its development.
Kanna said the government announced Central institutions as per the provisions listed in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act-2014. Despite the NDA government's efforts to develop the state, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his team were trying to mislead people by blaming the BJP government to gain mileage.Kanna said the BJP-led NDA government was committed to completion of Polavaram project.
Though the project was taken up by the Centre and releasing funds, the Chief Minister was claiming credit for the project, he alleged. Kanna said he had brought to the notice of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as some farmers complained of irregularities in land acquisition and rehabilitation of project victims.
He underlined the need for Central technical committee's observation on quality cost, tender policy and other issues in the project. Stating that the government gave 10-years period to establish the projects and institutions as per the AP Reorganisation Act-2014 and just four years journey was completed so far, he said the Centre was working on modalities to announce railway zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters.
